## Summary

Brighton & Hove City Council (the Council) is in the planning stage of a public procurement process titled "BHCC Cleaning & Clearance Services." This tender falls under the industry category of Cleaning and Sanitation Services (CPV code 90900000) and aims to provide various cleaning and clearance services across Brighton and Hove. Key activities include de-cluttering, deep-cleaning, ad hoc cleaning, and regular cleaning services for Adult Social Care and Tenancy Management. The Council anticipates publishing tender documents in November 2024, with contract awards expected in early 2025. Informal engagement sessions are planned for 1st October 2024 to further discuss this procurement, which could span approximately 4 years and has an estimated annual value of £500,000.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for SMEs specialising in cleaning and sanitation services. The contract’s potential structuring into various lots allows for participation by businesses with different specialisations or capacities, enhancing responsiveness and ensuring service quality. Companies providing either one-off or regular cleaning services can benefit from engaging with this substantial contract. The focus on households needing specific services, such as hoarding clearance or maintaining high standards of cleanliness due to health issues, makes it ideal for businesses experienced in providing these tailored and essential services. The estimated total value of the contracts over the four-year period is £2,000,000, offering a considerable opportunity for contracted service providers.

'Ad hoc' cleaning services will provide a high standard of cleaning on a 'one-off' basis as a way of restoring accommodation to a standard that promotes safety, health, and wellbeing Regular cleaning services will support those who, through ill-health or personal circumstances such as substance use are unable to maintain their accommodation as a safe and pleasant place to live.
