There is currently a waste transformation programme within the authority during a market engagement exercise carried out with 4 suppliers it was declared that at this current time due to the short period of time of the contract that the suppliers all confirmed they would not bid for a short contract due to the cost of the investment would not pay back. Therefore the decision was made to extend the current contract with the incumbent until the waste transformation programme was concluded.
