## Summary

The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract for pharmacy services under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The awarded contract, entitled "Pharmacy Contract 2024/25 Allied Pharmacy," is designed to deliver locally enhanced services for the Barnsley population, integrated with additional pharmacy contracts. The contract was awarded following a direct award process and spans from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025. The location for the services is Barnsley, South Yorkshire, under the industry category of pharmacy services. This contract was concluded by the Chief Finance Officer of NHS South Yorkshire ICB Barnsley place, with no identified conflicts of interest.

Opportunities for business growth arise from the continued integration of locally enhanced services (LCS) with the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF). This tender is particularly well-suited for existing large-scale pharmacies that have the capability to enhance CPCF services. Given that payment is activity-based according to local prices, businesses that can efficiently manage service delivery while meeting specified contract criteria are likely to benefit. The contract allows pharmacies to solidify and expand their service offerings within the Barnsley area, fostering deeper community engagement and potential growth in local market share.

## Notice

The provider is commissioner to deliver locally enhanced services for the Barnsley population integrated with their additional pharmacy contracts.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The Contract Award has been made following direct award process B under the Provider Selection Regime.

This contract is awarded to an existing provider for an existing service. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (pharmacy) is because they are required to hold a contract via the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the (CPCF) contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount. For this reason not every Pharmacy delivers every LCS.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices.

The contract runs from 01/04/2024 to 31/03/2025.
