## Summary

Kent County Council is planning a tender for "CN240158 - Habilitation Services - Children" focusing on health and social work services across the Kent region. The council will engage with organisations through market engagement events scheduled for 1st October 2024 (13:00-14:00) and 7th October 2024 (14:00-15:00) to inform the recommissioning process of services valued at GBP 380,000. The procurement stage is currently in the planning phase, aiming for future notice release on 11th October 2024. The services entail one-to-one training for children and young people with vision impairment, aiming to boost their independent living, mobility, and navigation skills. The contract, subject to engagement outcomes, could last for 3+1 years.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for organisations specialising in vision impairment services, particularly those with expertise in delivering personalised educational and supportive services to children. Businesses engaged in health and social care, school environmental adaptations, and offering family support sessions are well-placed to compete. The project’s focus on enhancing independence and integration for visually impaired youth also aligns well with stakeholders interested in long-term community impact and educational inclusivity. Participation in the pre-procurement workshops will provide valuable insights and the potential for future contract awards, fostering business growth and community service development.
