## Summary

Kirklees Council is procuring services to support young people aged 16 to 21 in a supported accommodation setting located at Swan Lane, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The services fall under the industry category of welfare services for children and young people (CPV: 85311300). The procurement process, currently in the contract update stage, involves managing a housing-related support service for homeless youth. This supported accommodation will provide 24-hour staffing and comprehensive facilities, including nine en-suite bedrooms and various communal spaces. The current contract, valued at £1,002,859 GBP and originally set to expire on 30th September 2024, has been modified to include a 12-month extension due to unforeseen circumstances affecting the tender process earlier this year. Referrals for the accommodation will come exclusively from Kirklees Council teams, ensuring a streamlined process for service users.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialised in supported housing management and welfare services. Companies with expertise in managing occupancy arrangements, collecting rent, handling anti-social behaviour, and performing repairs and maintenance will find this contract particularly well-suited to their skills. The management agreement with the property landlords includes a predetermined fee for these services, making it an attractive prospect for small to medium-sized enterprises looking to expand their portfolio in public sector contracts. The continuation of current contractor Connect Housing Association Ltd. ensures service consistency, offering businesses a stable partnership opportunity.
