## Summary

The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded a pharmacy contract to War wick PHARMACY under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This contract pertains to the delivery of locally enhanced services for the Barnsley population, which will run from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025. The primary procurement category is services, specifically pharmacy services under the CPV classification 85149000. The procurement method was limited, conducted without prior publication of a call for competition, and falls outside the scope of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This process was finalised with the announcement on the 13th of September 2024, confirming the contract award to an existing provider as part of an ongoing arrangement.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses in the pharmacy services industry that can align with the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF). Although the contract is currently awarded to an existing provider, businesses that can meet the specified criteria and offer integrated services could potentially compete for similar future tenders. Pharmacies with the capability to deliver both the required locally enhanced services (LCS) and additional services under the CPCF contract may find this an attractive domain for expansion. Such opportunities can help expand service portfolios and strengthen relationships with regional health authorities.

## Notice

The provider is commissioned to deliver locally enhanced services for the Barnsley population integrated with their additional pharmacy contracts. CPV 85149000-5 pharmacy services.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (pharmacy) is because they are required to hold a contract via the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the (CPCF) contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount. For this reason not every Pharmacy delivers every LCS.
