## Summary

The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract to Forum Energy Technologies for the procurement and in-service support of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). This contract, valued at £18 million, will cover a period of 2 years and 9 months. Classified under the Surveying, Hydrographic, Oceanographic, and Hydrological Instruments and Appliances industry category (CPV code 38290000), this procurement falls under the Defence sector. The procurement method used was a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, based on the absence of competition for technical reasons, as only Forum Energy Technologies could meet the Ministry's specific requirements. The contract was signed on 18th September 2024, with the scope of delivery within the UK.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for suppliers specialised in high-tech marine and defence equipment. Companies with capabilities in manufacturing, maintenance, and service provision for remotely operated vehicles, especially those that can meet stringent technical and operational requirements, are well-suited to compete in such procurements. Additionally, businesses that can offer innovations in underwater operational systems, dynamic positioning, and payload capacities stand to benefit. This contract reinforces the strategic importance of the UK's defence sector while providing substantial avenues for industrial participation and technological advancements.
