## Summary

The Welsh Government has awarded a contract for Hard Facilities Management services covering various properties across Wales. This procurement falls under the services category within the facilities management industry and was executed through an open procedure. The contract, with an estimated value of £35,000,000, was signed on 10th October 2025, following its procurement phase that culminated in the award notice on 18th June 2026. The main objective of this contract is to maintain and improve government-maintained buildings, requiring extensive facilities management services across the administrative estate. The procurement process concluded with MITIE TECHNICAL FACILITIES MANAGEMENT LIMITED being the successful supplier, following an open tender held by the Welsh Government, which is based in Cardiff, UK.

This contract opportunity highlights potential avenues for businesses specialised in facilities management and maintenance services to engage with large-scale government projects. Businesses equipped with significant resources and expertise in areas such as general facilities management, maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations, and project management services are well-positioned to benefit from such contracts. The Welsh Government's emphasis on maintaining and upgrading its properties indicates a sustained demand for professional and thorough facilities management services. Companies capable of delivering high-quality services in demanding environments would find these opportunities favourable for expansion and long-term growth. Smaller enterprises might also consider forming consortia to tap into similar opportunities for scale and improved capability.
