## Summary

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is currently in the planning stage of a tender identified as "National Witness Service 2024 Market Engagement", which falls under the Legal advisory and information services category. This procurement process is for services primarily located within the UK and is set to engage potential applicants, including consortiums, ahead of the grant's application window, which is expected to open in early November 2024 and last approximately eight weeks. Key upcoming dates include a virtual market engagement event on 7 October 2024, for which interested parties must register by 2 October 2024. The current grant for the National Witness Service is valued at approximately £12 million per year, with an anticipated total allocation of up to £55 million over four years starting after 31 March 2026.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in legal advisory and information services to secure substantial funding and build long-term relationships with the Ministry of Justice. Organisations with experience in delivering public order and safety services or those capable of forming consortia to provide comprehensive solutions would be well-positioned to benefit from this engagement. The market engagement event will provide valuable insights into the grant's design and application process, aiding businesses in tailoring their proposals to meet the MoJ's requirements and strategically positioning themselves for the forthcoming competitive bidding process.

## Notice

The current grant for the delivery of the National Witness Service is due to end on 31st March 2026. The MoJ are designing a new grant to allow continuation of the service once the current grant funding period concludes, and is now seeking to engage with interested applicants. The purpose of this engagement is to gather feedback on the current design and to assess the level of interest the grant will attract from potential applicants. The MoJ wishes to flag that both individual applications as well as applications through consortia (two or more organisations coming together to apply for this grant) are welcomed. The MoJ invites interested organisations to attend their virtual market engagement event on 7 October 2024 which will be delivered via Teams and take place between 10am- 1pm. Please respond by 2 October 2024 to allow time for invitations to be issued. The event will cover the background to this grant, feedback on the potential criteria the Authority is proposing, the application process, and will provide an opportunity to ask questions. Please note that all questions and answers will be recorded and issued, alongside any materials shared during the event, to everyone who expresses an interest- even if unable to attend. Background info: * The current value of the Witness Service grant is circa PS12 million per year, and going forward we are aiming to allocate a total of up to PS55m over a grant period of four years.
