## Summary

UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) has awarded a contract for the provision of Magnetic Shields for the PIP-II Cryomodules as part of an upgrade to the Fermilab accelerator complex. This procurement, categorized under Particle accelerators (CPV 31643000), includes the delivery of goods to the UKRI Science and Technology Facilities Council's location at Sci-Tech Daresbury in Warrington, UK. The procurement process followed an open procedure and had an estimated contract value ranging between £900,000 and £1,100,000 excluding VAT, including optional items. The award was made to Magnetic Shield Corporation on 5th December 2024, and the procurement was finalized by UKRI.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), looking to engage with a high-profile scientific project. Companies specialising in the production of advanced shielding materials and components for scientific research facilities can leverage this contract to build their portfolios and gain recognition in the field of accelerator technology. The key criteria for the award were based on technical quality (70%) and cost (30%), positioning businesses that offer high technical expertise and competitive pricing to benefit most from participating in such tenders.
