## Summary

The TEES ESK AND WEAR VALLEYS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST has completed the procurement process for the services of an Activity Coordinator for Durham rehab services. This contract, under the procurement ID PCPAC0121, aims to develop and provide rehabilitation services across Durham and Darlington, encompassing locations such as Primrose Lodge, Jubilee House, and the Community Rehabilitation Team. Categorised under Community Health Services (CPV 85323000), the contract follows a limited procurement method due to extreme urgency. The resulting agreement, worth £48,515, was signed on 26th September 2024, with the award status marked as 'active'. Key personnel involved include Jemma Amer, serving as the contact point for the contracting authority.

This tender represents significant business growth potential, particularly for SMEs specialising in community health and rehabilitation services. The urgent procurement method and the focus on high-quality care for individuals with complex mental health needs suggest an immediate and robust demand for specialised service providers. Businesses adept at managing rehabilitation services or those looking to enter this niche market could leverage this opportunity to build strong partnerships with the NHS foundation trust and expand their service portfolios within the healthcare sector.

### Procurement Information

'This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.' Regulation 14 has been applied due to ongoing delays in planned delivery and procurement to expand the existing service contract. Currently the provider has continued to provide the activity coordinator/member of staff in service with the expectation of contract expansion to include existing services. However due to delays there is a financial risk to the provider and the trust, should the provider remove the member of staff from service this would impact on patient care and trust services creating greater pressure on rehab services. The contract term is 12 month Decision makers include Jemma Amer, Contract Manager, John Chapman Head of Accounting and Governance and Liz Romaniak Director of Finance, no conflicts on interest.
