## Summary

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB) is planning a procurement process titled "First Episode Psychosis," focusing on health and social work services within the UKL22 region. This opportunity is at the planning stage, with a Supplier Engagement Day scheduled for 15 October 2024, intended to provide interested third-sector suppliers with an overview and answer any preliminary questions. The official tender will be live in November 2024, allowing suppliers ample time to prepare. The procurement seeks to align with the Welsh Government's Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2024-2034, emphasising early intervention and integrated support for young people aged 16-25 experiencing psychosis. Key legal frameworks, such as the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, must be adhered to by the successful service provider.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in health and social services, particularly those with experience in mental health support and youth services. The engagement with Cardiff and Vale UHB, a major healthcare provider, allows potential suppliers to contribute significantly to a vital public health initiative. Companies that can offer comprehensive care, community engagement, and support for young people’s education, training, and employment would be well-suited to compete. This tender is a chance for businesses to expand their portfolio by delivering services that can make a profound impact on the community and potentially foster long-term partnerships with the health board.
