### Procurement Information

Following a unsuccessful open tender competition for the Provision of Catering and Bar Services, the council are required to revisit their procurement strategy in preparation for retendering the required services. In order to maintain the catering services at Lagan Valley Island, the council have agreed to retain the current catering provider to ensure continuity of service whilst preparing for another tender exercise. The incumbent supplier has the capacity to deliver the required service under the terms of the original procurement. The council are content that the rates still represent value for money in terms of the original procurement. This direct award is permitted In line with Regulation 32 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 32(2)(c) insofar as is strictly necessary where, for reasons of extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable by the contracting authority, the time limits for the open or restricted procedures or competitive procedures with negotiation cannot be complied with due to the forthcoming expiry of the current contract.
