## Summary

The University of Sheffield has initiated a tender process for the supply of an Image Intensified CCD Camera System plus UV optics, classified under the "Optical instruments" industry category. The procurement process falls within the "goods" main category and is currently in the "Tender" stage. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the tender period closes on 8th November 2024, with bid opening scheduled for 12th November 2024. The delivery address is located in Sheffield, UK (region UKE32). The expected contract start date is 1st January 2025, running until 31st March 2025, with two distinct lots available for suppliers to bid on.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for suppliers of advanced optical instruments and camera systems, especially those specialising in scientific and academic applications. Businesses producing low-noise scientific cameras, Nd:YAG pumped dye laser systems, and UV camera lenses are well-suited to compete. Engaging in this procurement could facilitate significant business growth by establishing a relationship with a prestigious academic institution. The flexible lot structure allows suppliers to bid on one or both lots, potentially maximising their chances of success. Detailed criteria and options are available in the tender documents, offering potential customisable solutions to meet the specific needs of the University.

## Notice

A Nd:YAG pumped dye laser system is required. Its main use will be in combustion diagnostics studies of turbulent spray flames using the technique of planar laser induced fluorescence (PLIF) from 225 nm and above, to observe several chemical species, for example for NO, OH, CH2O. A low noise scientific camera for example sCMOS, and/or an intensified camera, and UV camera lens are desirable as part of the detection system. The detection system is required to be suitable for quantitative planar laser induced fluorescence imaging studies from 225 nm and above. The requirement above will be split into 2 distinct lots, within the tender.
