## Summary

Nottingham City Council, in conjunction with Nottinghamshire County Council, is seeking tenders for a Children and Young People's Advocacy and Befriending (Independent Visitor) Service, categorized under Health and social work services. This procurement process, currently in the award stage, aims to provide advocacy and befriending support services to children and young people within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The contract, valued up to £1,793,000 over a possible five-year period, will commence on 1 April 2025. The tender process employed an open procedure under the Light Touch Regime of the Public Contract Regulations 2015, with the application deadline previously set for 20 November 2024.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for organisations experienced in delivering advocacy and befriending services to children and young people. Particularly, businesses with expertise in supporting children in care, children in need, or those subject to child protection plans are well-suited to compete. The councils' joint commissioning approach seeks to achieve Best Value, thus potential suppliers who can deliver high-quality, cost-effective service solutions may find this tender a fitting opportunity to expand their footprint in the region. The award places a strong emphasis on quality with an 80% weighting, and the contract was ultimately awarded to The Children's Society, indicating the high standards expected.
