## Summary

Cardiff Council is currently in the planning stage of a tender for the "Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Mechanical/Electrical Equipment to Control/Management of the Queensgate Tunnel". This falls under the services industry category, specifically focused on the installation of electrical and mechanical equipment. The planned contract aims to support continuous and task-based services over a three-year term, with an option for a 12-month extension based on contractor performance. The project, located in Cardiff (UKL22), includes a variety of specialised tasks such as maintenance of tunnel systems and infrastructure, periodic inspections, and electrical testing. Communication regarding future notices is expected by 20th January 2025. Relevant legal frameworks and procurement categories, such as the NEC 4 Term Service contract, are applicable.

This tender provides significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in electrical and mechanical engineering, maintenance services, and infrastructure management. Companies with expertise in fault attendance, system maintenance, and technical inspections are well-suited to participate. The flexibility offered by the NEC 4 Term Service contract means businesses can expect repeated engagements and sustained work based on the project’s evolving requirements. Cardiff Council’s commitment to value for money and benchmark standards makes this tender a lucrative prospect for well-established service providers aiming to expand their portfolios within public sector infrastructure projects.
