## Summary

Leicestershire County Council has completed its procurement process for the "Minor Works Framework: Construction 2024", focusing on construction work for buildings related to education and research across several UK regions. The framework, governed under the 2014 EU Procurement Directives and employing a restricted procedure, is divided into two lots; Lot 1, accommodating contracts ranging from £0 to £100,000, and Lot 2 from £100,000 to £2,500,000. The framework period, involving multiple Framework Providers on each lot, seeks to support the council’s own properties while generating additional income through client-contracted works, thereby underpinning its public service commitments. This agreement is applicable to various contracting authorities, schools, and charities within the East Midlands, West Midlands, Home Counties, East Anglia, South West England, and Yorkshire and the Humber. The procurement stage, now at the award phase, saw contracts signed on 27th August 2025.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in construction, particularly those capable of delivering projects within the specified financial ranges. The framework's vast geographic and participant reach makes it an attractive proposition for small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and large contractors alike, fostering opportunities for sustainable growth and diversification through public sector engagements. Winning a position as a Framework Provider could bolster a company's profile and credibility, facilitating access to future public sector opportunities, thereby encouraging business expansion and resilience in a competitive industry.
