## Summary

De Montfort University (DMU) has initiated a tender for the "Provision of Improved Research Platform," classified under "Software package and information systems" (CPV code 48000000). The procurement process is currently at the tender stage, and involves two lots: a post-award research management system and an outputs and data repository system. The total value of the tender is approximately £1,207,000 GBP, with the deadline for submissions set for 27 November 2024. The contract period is expected to begin on 14 March 2025 and will run for five years, with options for extensions. The procurement method is open, and submissions are to be made electronically. The location for project execution is De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in software development and information systems, particularly those experienced with academic and research institutions. Ideal candidates would have the capability to deliver integrated IT platforms that enhance current manual processes and interface with existing systems. Companies offering robust post-award research management solutions or data repository systems should find this contract particularly appealing. The tender is well-suited for vendors looking to establish or strengthen relationships within the higher education sector and support advanced research management functions at a leading UK university.

## Notice

DMU is seeking an Improved Research Platform Solution to in part replace the current post-award research IT manual processes; and so, provide for a much more integrated overarching management of research that encompasses a post-award (LOT 1) and outputs and data repository (LOT 2) systems. The ambition is that the new IRP Solution will work as post-award research management system and an outputs and data repository system which will enable the provision of a more integrated end to end user journey, working with pre-award as an Improved Research Platform Solution at DMU. The new Solution made up of one or more new systems should also critically have the clear ability to interface with other DMU IT systems, as well as other acquired systems already embedded with DMU. Full details, including the full extent of Requirements can be found in the Invitation to Tender documentation at 'https://in-tendhost.co.uk/demontfort/aspx/Home' for the Provision of Improved Research Platform, Ref. 1832.
