## Summary

The procurement process is led by the Department for Transport (DfT) in London, seeking to establish a Transport Appraisal and Modelling Panel as a framework agreement over three years, with a maximum value of £300,000, excluding VAT. This tender falls within the services category, specifically research services, and covers the UK region. The procurement method is an open procedure, focusing on transport economics, modelling, and related disciplines like machine learning and operational research. The competition was launched on 23rd October 2024, with key deadlines including the application submission by 29th November 2024 and results notification by 19th December 2024.

Businesses with expertise in transport modelling and economics, particularly those specialising in data science and machine learning, are well-positioned for growth opportunities through this tender. The framework provides a platform for suppliers to engage in transport-related projects, with emphasis on technical expertise and policy awareness as award criteria. While work under the panel is not guaranteed, the agreement does offer connections and potential collaborations with government entities. Both large organisations and SMEs in fields relevant to transport and its economic impacts are encouraged to participate in this open procurement process.
