## Summary

The procurement process for the "0-19 and Children's Community Services" in Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire, and Luton local authority areas involves the NHS Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board (BLMK ICB) as the lead commissioner, with Bedford Borough Council, Central Bedfordshire Council, and Luton Borough Council as associate commissioners. The procurement pertains to health services, falling under the services industry category, and covers locations in the regions identified with postal codes LU1 2LJ in the UKH21, UKH24, UKH25, and UKJ12 zones. This contract, valued at approximately £348.15 million, was formally awarded using a direct award process under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and is set to commence on 1st April 2025 for a duration of 7 years, with an optional extension of 2 further years.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities, particularly beneficial for large healthcare service providers like Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust, which is involved as a supplier. The process emphasises quality over price, making it ideal for businesses that can meet high standards of health service delivery. The procurement method employed is limited, allowing for an award procedure without prior publication, thus providing a unique opportunity for existing or qualifying providers to secure a substantial contract within the NHS framework. This creates an advantageous position for businesses able to align with the goals of reducing hospital dependency by offering comprehensive, community-based care that integrates seamlessly with local health provisions.
