## Summary

In a planned procurement process, the NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) seeks to engage with the market for the provision of Children's Community Nursing Services designed for children and young people with complex health needs in educational settings. This service falls under the health services industry category. The ICB is organising a virtual Market Engagement Event scheduled for Tuesday, 12th November 2024 at 10:00 am, with registration and questionnaire submission due by 2:00 pm on Monday, 11th November 2024. The initiative is situated in the Derby region, with the procurement process currently at the planning stage and a future notice date set for 15th November 2024. The service aims to ensure that the healthcare requirements for children and young people are met safely and effectively within educational contexts.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specializing in healthcare services, particularly those experienced in working with educational settings and complex health needs. Qualified providers who can offer skilled nursing and training for educational staff, as well as collaborative services involving parents, carers, and multidisciplinary teams, are highly encouraged to participate. The virtual engagement event allows potential providers to understand the model and provide valuable feedback, helping shape the final scope of services. Participation in this procurement process could lead to significant growth opportunities for healthcare providers capable of delivering quality, integrated care services within educational environments.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Children and Young People (CYP) with medical conditions or complex health needs, will require a number of adults who are competent to support them in meeting their care needs, as it is not possible for them to do this for themselves. This will be achieved by either upskilling and enhancing skills of the education setting workforce with the appropriate training to enable them to undertake tasks that have been identified and are safe to do so by a registered health professional, or through appropriate delegation to health and care staff. This decision will be made using appropriate locally agreed Joined Up Care Derbyshire agreed clinical tools aligned to relevant national guidance.

The service aims to provide oversight and assurance of the healthcare requirements identified for the CYP, through multidisciplinary assessments, and that these are being met in a safe and effective way whilst the CYP is in an educational setting. The service will work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers, children and young people and other professionals involved in children's care to support their needs.
