## Summary

Natural Resources Wales is overseeing a public procurement process titled "Land Hazards – Maintenance, Repair & Inspection Framework 2025". This procurement falls under the "works" category and involves the maintenance and repair of hazard sites across South Wales, specifically on NRW managed lands and the Welsh Government Woodland Estate. The contract has been broken down into three lots: Routine Maintenance, Civils Work, and Inspections. The main procurement method used was an open procedure, and the procurement stage has been completed with the award of contracts. The awards were finalised in 2025 to competent suppliers following an extensive tender phase. The procurement process took place electronically through eTenderwales, indicating a streamlined digital approach.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specializing in civil engineering, environmental services, and inspection services. With a focus on the maintenance and repair of land hazard sites, including colliery tips and rock faces, the tender suits firms with expertise in construction and environmental management. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) like G.J. Price Contracting and Jim Davies Civil Engineering Ltd have successfully secured contracts, illustrating the framework’s accessibility to smaller industry players. Businesses offering technical inspection services can also thrive under this framework, as evidenced by active participation from companies such as Earth Science Partnership Limited. This procurement not only ensures long-term growth opportunities but also reinforces the potential for new market entrants to establish themselves in South Wales' civil engineering and environmental sectors.
