## Summary

Bangor University is undertaking a procurement process for the "Supply of Bioreactors" as part of the Centre of Environmental Biotechnology+ project. This project aims to support the transformation of the North Wales regional economy through the development of a microbial culture scale-up facility. This procurement is in the Tender stage with an open procedure method, classified under the "Biochemical analysers" industry category. The tender process began on 4th November 2024, with the closing date for submissions set for 5th December 2024. The bioreactors will be delivered to Henfaes Farm, Abergwyngregyn in North Wales (region UKL12). The procurement covers two lots: a large bioreactor with steam generator and smaller bioreactors, including associated consumables and additional services.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for companies specialising in biochemical analysers and microbial culture technologies. The procurement process ensures that businesses can benefit from added value and sustainability components, technical support, resources, warranty, and deliver community benefits aligning with social and environmental considerations. Both SMEs and larger suppliers with expertise in bioreactor instrumentation hardware and software are encouraged to compete, with award criteria heavily weighted towards quality and price. This procurement could foster long-term partnerships and provide suppliers with the chance to contribute to an innovative and environmentally conscious project, ultimately aiding economic and industrial transformation in the region.
