The University of Warwick *has a requirement for a flue gas treatment system, or "scrubber", for the Li-ion Battery Safety Centre. This consists of 3 fire and pressure rated chambers in which large format Li-ion cells are exposed to abuse conditions and may undergo thermal runaway, releasing large volumes of hazardous fumes. The system will be connected to all three chambers but is only expected to manage the fumes from one thermal runway event in one chamber at a time.
