## Summary

The Department for Infrastructure's Transport and Road Asset Management TRAM has concluded the procurement process for the DfI TRAM T-1145 Framework Contract for Surfacing Framework A. The framework falls under the category of civil engineering works, specifically targeting road construction and maintenance. This open procedure aims to enhance road asset management across Northern Ireland with a concentration on infrastructural works such as carriageway resurfacing and roadway enhancements. The framework has been segmented into six geographic lots, each emphasizing regions like Mid and East Antrim, Newry and Mourne, Cookstown and Magherafelt, Omagh, and Belfast North. Key contract awards were signed on 30th April 2025, covering a period of up to four years with possible extensions, and achieving a total value of approximately £242.5 million.

This procurement presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specializing in road surfacing, civil engineering, and related services. Companies that successfully tendered include a mix of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and larger organisations capable of handling extensive infrastructure projects. The focus on multiple lots allows businesses to participate competitively across different scales of work, offering growth potential through secured contracts and increased visibility in the public sector. The tender's structure supports both call-off contracts and mini-competitions within lots, encouraging diverse participation and fostering opportunities for business expansion across Northern Ireland’s infrastructure landscape.
