## Summary

North Lanarkshire Council, a regional authority based in Motherwell, recently completed the procurement process for the "Garden Assistance Scheme & Ad-Hoc Garden Works 2025 – 2028" within the horticultural services industry. The completed procurement, with a focus on Motherwell in North Lanarkshire (UKM84), was initiated in early March 2025 and the contract was awarded on 10th June 2025 to The Landscaping Centre. This procurement was conducted as an open procedure under the legal framework of Directive 2014/24/EU, allocated a total of £858,732. The contract involves providing garden maintenance services across Motherwell and additional horticultural tasks on an ad-hoc basis, mainly targeting elderly and infirm residents.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses within the horticultural and grounds maintenance sectors, particularly those that specialize in diverse maintenance services such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and tree pruning. The procurement criteria, which emphasize both price (70%) and quality (30%), suggest a competitive landscape where companies excelling in efficient service delivery are well-positioned to succeed. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a robust portfolio in horticultural services stand to benefit greatly, as the procurement involved participation from several SMEs, fostering a competitive yet inclusive business environment.
