## Summary

Transport for London (TfL) has announced a tender for the provision of auction services for unclaimed lost property items. The procurement process is at the Tender stage, with the tender period ending on 12 December 2024. TfL is looking to award two contracts, each with a duration of two years, extendable by up to an additional two years (in one-year increments). The services required include inventory and valuation, auction preparation, auction conduct, and post-auction procedures. The auctions will be conducted either in-person or online, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The auction service must also handle the distribution of auction proceeds to TfL. The industry category for this tender is auction services, and it will affect the region of the United Kingdom (UK&I), specifically at TfL’s headquarters in London.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in auction services to expand their operations by partnering with a high-profile public transportation organisation like TfL. Businesses with expertise in managing and executing both physical and online auctions, including inventory management, valuation, marketing, and compliance with auction laws, will find this tender particularly suited to their capabilities. The potential for contract extensions means there is a long-term opportunity for sustained business growth. Companies qualified to handle the collection and distribution of auction proceeds, while ensuring detailed reporting and post-auction management, will be highly competitive in this procurement process.
