## Summary

The Department for Education is planning a public procurement process titled "Schools Water Strategy - Property Flood Resilience Early Supplier Engagement Event," focusing on flood-prevention works in the UK. This initiative aims to reduce flooding risks in schools through various measures, including Property Flood Resilience. The industry category falls under construction and civil engineering works (CPV 45246400). The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a market engagement event set to provide further details and gather feedback on feasibility, requirements, and risks. Interested parties are encouraged to review the requirements and register for the event, which is part of the preliminary market research prior to the formal tender process anticipated in early 2026.

This procurement process presents growth opportunities for businesses specialised in flood prevention measures, including the construction of flood barriers, green flood solutions, and technical project management. Companies with expertise in flood risk assessments, design and construction of resilience measures for educational facilities, and those proficient in meeting modern slavery and social value standards would find this event particularly beneficial. Engaging with this procurement process allows firms to influence final requirements, gain early insights, and potentially secure future contracts once the Department's internal budget for 2025 is approved.
