## Summary

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is planning a tender for the supply and support of high throughput DNA extraction systems, specifically intended for clinical use within the medical equipment industry category. This procurement process, which is currently in the planning stage, is targeting a procurement budget of £2,000,000. It covers a nationwide delivery across England, serviced through a network of seven laboratories. The procurement is governed by UK and EU public procurement regulations, ensuring compliance and transparency.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical equipment, particularly those offering advanced DNA extraction systems. Companies that can provide comprehensive solutions involving equipment, IT hardware, reagents, and consumables that meet high throughput requirements would be well-suited for this procurement. Additionally, businesses capable of offering managed service contracts may have added advantages. By engaging with NHSBT through the pre-procurement process, suppliers can position themselves as future partners in enhancing clinical DNA testing services, ultimately driving business growth and expanding their footprint in the healthcare sector.
