Initially announced in November 2024, this contract is planned to commence on 1st June 2025 for a period of three years, with the potential for a further two-year extension. Westhoughton High School aims for high food standards and consistent service quality for its 1,354 pupils, making this a significant opportunity for the successful bidder.

This contract presents substantial business growth opportunities, especially for established service providers specialising in school catering services. The demanding criteria, which include high standards of food quality and consistency, suggest that the tender is well-suited to mid-sized or large enterprises capable of delivering robust catering solutions. Additionally, the opportunity for contract extension encourages long-term business engagement, appealing to companies aiming to expand their footprint in the Greater Manchester educational sector.
