This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in high-quality ophthalmologic services. Companies that can effectively deliver cost-efficient cataract treatments, maintain service capacity in both hospital and community settings, and adhere to national care standards will be well-suited to compete. Additionally, the requirement for training the next generation of consultant ophthalmologists and handling urgent post-surgery issues underscores the need for experienced providers. The contract with Optegra UK Limited, a small to medium-sized enterprise, reflects a targeted procurement process that aimed to ensure high standards and value for money without a prior publication of a call for competition.
