## Summary

Natural Resources Wales has finalised the procurement for their Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to provide Direct Production Harvesting Services across different regions, including Mid Wales, South Wales, and North Wales. The procurement process, conducted under the Public Contract Regulations 2015 using the Restricted Procedure (Regulation 28) and DPS (Regulation 34), aimed to support roadside timber contracts and manage vegetation and disease control. Key activities include felling, processing, extraction of trees to roadside, and mechanised mulching. Euroforest Ltd, alongside other notable suppliers, was awarded to undertake these services following the award date on 18th September 2024, with contract signings occurring in early 2020. The procurement stage is complete, signifying the supply agreements are in place, fostering compliance with statutory duties in the industry classified under CPV 77211100 - Timber harvesting services.

This procurement offers substantial opportunities for business growth, particularly for companies specialising in forestry and logging, timber transport, and vegetation management. SMEs, as indicated by the involvement of various small and medium enterprises like TW & GW EVANS LTD, i & jm pass & sons ltd, and others, would find these contracts particularly beneficial. These contracts ensure consistent work in tree felling, harvesting operations, and disease control across Wales, presenting lucrative opportunities for businesses with expertise in forestry management, timber processing, and environmental services to secure a steady stream of income while contributing to the economic and environmental sustainability efforts spearheaded by Natural Resources Wales.
