## Summary

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) in the United Kingdom has completed a procurement process for post design services, spares, and repairs for helmets, ground use headsets, in-ear communication devices, and test equipment for use on air platforms. This tender, classified under the Military Helmets industry category, was awarded to Helmet Integrated Systems Ltd. The contract, valued at £32.1 million, will be active until 2032, following the expiration of the current contract on 31 December 2024. This long-term contract comprises a main period of five years, with three optional one-year extensions. The procurement method was a limited negotiation without prior publication of a contract notice, adhering to specific Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations due to technical reasons and the absence of competition.

This tender presents an important opportunity for businesses involved in the design, supply, and maintenance of specialised military communication gear and helmets. Specifically, companies with the capability to provide bespoke post-design services and who hold necessary design rights and accreditations would find this contract highly suitable. This procurement opens doors for specialised contractors who possess the technical expertise and certifications required to meet the stringent airworthiness regulations set by the Military Aviation Authority. The continuation of support for this equipment until 2032 ensures a prolonged business opportunity for Helmet Integrated Systems Ltd and highlights the growing need for technical proficiency and exclusive design rights in the defence sector.
