## Summary

The Metropolitan Police Service is overseeing a significant public procurement process entitled the "Police Primary Carbine System Framework," categorized under goods and specifically focusing on weapons, ammunition, and associated parts. This multi-force framework agreement spans up to 7 years (5+1+1) and is divided into three lots: Suppressed Police Primary Carbine System, Unsuppressed Police Primary Carbine System, and Multi-Functioning Aiming Laser (MFAL). The procurement stage is primarily in the tender update phase, following the award stage, with recent amendments indicating contract award decisions provisionally set for 22 December 2025. The process involves key policing authorities from across the UK, including the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and the Police Service of Northern Ireland, among others, using a restricted procurement method.

This tender presents numerous opportunities for businesses within the supply chain of firearms and associated technological systems. Companies specialising in light firearms, parts of firearms, lasers, and associated goods with capabilities to offer both sole and multiple supply capabilities will find opportunities here. With a cumulative contract value exceeding £29 million, this framework supports both single-supplier and multi-supplier engagements, allowing businesses with either niche capabilities or broader supply chains to participate. Opportunities are particularly suitable for businesses keen to expand their footprint within UK policing and defence entities, catering to high-tech specifications and rigorous operational requirements across the specified lots. Such engagements could enhance a company's market standing and provide substantial growth through collaboration with high-profile public sector bodies.
