## Summary

Birmingham City Council (BCC), in collaboration with Birmingham Children’s Trust (BCT), is inviting tenders for the provision of Short Break Services. This procurement process is targeting services for disabled children and young people, with contracts divided into three main lots: Universal Brokerage, Targeted Short Breaks, and Specialist Short Breaks. The services will cover various needs from community-based inclusive short breaks to intensive family support and specialist fostering. The procurement is in the tender stage, and interested suppliers must submit their tenders electronically by noon on 16th January 2025 via the 'In-tend' system. The contracts will run for three years, with an option to extend for an additional two years subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

This tender represents a considerable opportunity for businesses in the welfare and community service sectors. Companies specialising in services for disabled children, including daycare, specialist fostering, and family support services, stand a chance to secure long-term contracts with reputable local authorities. The structured lot system allows diverse organisations, including small and medium-sized enterprises, to participate either independently or as part of a consortium for more complex service provision. Successful businesses will benefit from engagement in a socially impactful project while establishing a firm foothold in the public sector market, reinforcing their presence and fostering growth through consistent funding and extensive scope of work.
