## Summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a contract for the provision of two Care Navigator roles under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This contract, with a total value of £300,000, will support safer transitions and community engagement in both inpatient and community settings in Warrington. The contract was awarded through a direct award process to Warrington Voluntary Action, starting on 1st April 2025 and running until 31st March 2028, with an option to extend for an additional two years. This procurement falls under the Health and Social Work Services category and was completed following the regulations outside the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 framework.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, especially those with a focus on community engagement and support. Companies that have a strong track record in delivering similar services and can ensure seamless continuity in care will find this opportunity appealing. Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in health and social work, particularly those experienced with direct award processes and existing provider relationships, are well-suited to compete for such contracts. Establishing a foothold in this sector can lead to further engagements and long-term partnerships with public health authorities.
