## Summary

NHS Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) Integrated Care Board (ICB) has successfully completed the award phase of a public procurement process for the provision of Abortion Care Services. This contract falls under the health and social work services category (CPV 85000000) and is intended to serve the UKK1 region. The procurement was conducted using a limited method without prior publication of a call for competition, adhering to the Provider Selection Regime (PSR 2023) Regulations. The contract, valued at £50,050,391 for a potential duration of up to 10 years (initial 7 years with the option to extend by an additional 3 years), is set to commence on 1st April 2025. Notice of this award was initially published on 7th October 2024, with the standstill period ending on 18th December 2024.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses within the healthcare sector, particularly those specialising in medical and surgical hospital services as well as gynaecological services. The contract award, granted to University Hospitals Bristol and Weston, exemplifies the reward for providers demonstrating high-quality standards and cost acceptance under the MSP process. Small to medium-sized healthcare providers, particularly those with a strong track record in delivering specialised care services, could consider similar opportunities in future procurements. Participation in such tenders can facilitate business growth by securing long-term government contracts that ensure sustained revenue and service impact within the public healthcare system.
