## Summary

The Ministry of Defence (MoD), through its Defence Equipment & Support division's Ships Support sector, has completed the award stage of a contract for the maintenance and provision of oceanographic sensors. The contract, titled "Maintenance & Provision of Oceanographic Sensors," involves in-service support, calibration, maintenance, repair, and replacement of sensors made by AML Oceanographic Limited, which are used in Royal Navy Multibeam Echo Sounders. The contract, awarded to Ocean Scientific International Limited (OSIL), will span five years, with an estimated value of £450,000. The physical location for this project is OSIL's facility in Havant, UKJ31. The procurement process was carried out through a limited award procedure without prior call for competition, justified by the technical reasons under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in the defence and hydrographic instruments sectors, particularly those with expertise in oceanographic sensor technology and maintenance services. Companies that can offer specialised support in calibration and repair, or those looking to engage in long-term, stable contracts within the defence sector, will find this tender beneficial. As the awarded contract specifically involves a seasoned supplier, Ocean Scientific International Limited, businesses that can offer complementary services or potential subcontracting arrangements may also find growth opportunities in this collaboration.
