## Summary

The University of Strathclyde is overseeing a procurement process for the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of an Oligonucleotide Synthesis Platform in Glasgow. This involves multi-channel automated oligonucleotide synthesisers capable of medium and high throughputs, along with semi-automated post synthesis processing accessories. The procurement is classified under the CPV code for laboratory, optical, and precision equipment, excluding glasses, and falls within the 'goods' category. The tender initially commenced with an open procedure, with the tender period ending on 24 January 2025. The procurement has progressed to the award stage, with Biolytic Lab Performance Inc. designated as the supplier on 28 July 2025. The awarded contract is valued at £330,000, ensuring adherence to specific procurement guidelines, including community benefits.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in scientific equipment and laboratory technology to expand their market presence. Businesses with expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, and precision manufacturing are well-positioned to supply the complex synthesis and processing systems required. Particularly, SMEs with a track record in providing high-quality, reliable synthesis platforms capable of supporting the intricate need for customised oligonucleotide production can find avenues for growth through participation in such tenders. Furthermore, businesses that offer robust post-sales support and warranty services stand to benefit, enhancing their credentials and competitive advantage in the scientific and laboratory equipment sector.

## Notice

This proposal aims to acquire 2 multi-channel automated oligonucleotide synthesers covering medium through put to high through put approaches. This system will enable the parallel production of DNA, LNA, RNA, 2' RNA modified oligonucleotides and conjugate derivatives using solid phase phosphoramidite chemistry. The systems will provide flexibility in terms of scale, low throughput and high throughput parallel synthesis, allowing the synthesis of mixed backbones for methodology development purposes or quick access to multiple analogues in one run . The proposed bid should include delivery, installation, and be accompanied by a minimum of 12 months warranty. Aditionally the proposed bid must include post synthetic processings accessories.
