## Summary

The Lee Valley Regional Park Authority has concluded a public procurement process for the phased strip-up and replacement of 36,000m² of resin bonded 'Gold Top' tarmac at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London. This project, categorised under 'Surface work for footpaths', moved from the tender stage initiated on 4th February 2025, to the award stage with the contract signed on 17th March 2025. Henderson & Taylor (Public Works) Limited has been awarded the contract valued at £1,307,467.92 GBP. The procurement method used was open procedure, reflecting transparent and competitive tendering practices under the legal framework CELEX 32014L0024.

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in surface works, civil engineering, and construction. SMEs in the aforementioned sectors, especially those proficient in advanced tarmac and concrete surfacing techniques, will find this tender well-suited to their capabilities. The considerable scale of the project, alongside the prestigious location at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, provides excellent exposure and a chance to build a strong portfolio presence. Businesses interested in future similar projects can leverage this opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and reliability in significant public infrastructure projects.

## Notice

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was home to the 2012 London Olympic Games. The Lee Valley Regional Park Authority is now the proud owner of two of the venues based on the park: The Lee Valley VeloPark and The Lee Valley Hockey andTennis Centre. LVRPA owns an area of land that currently has around 36,000m2 of resin bonded 'Gold Top' surfacing. Much of the resin bonded surface is now showing signs of deterioration and requires stripping up and replacing. The substrate is mainly concrete laid to falls and the areas generally drain into Acco drainage channels. There are some additional areas of resin bound surfaces, but these are fairly small in terms of square metreage. The resin bound areas are porous and generally drain through holes drilled through the substrate into the ground below.
