## Summary

The University of York has issued an invitation to tender (ITT) for the provision of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Operation, Maintenance and Repair Services. This contract, under the industry category of repair and maintenance services (CPV: 50000000), pertains to the university’s three CHP generators located at Heslington, York campuses. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage with submissions due by 24th January 2025 at 12:00 PM. The contract is set to commence on 1st April 2025 and has an initial duration of three years, with potential extensions bringing the total possible duration to seven years. Bidders can submit their proposals electronically as detailed in the ITT pack available via the In-Tend Portal.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair services to engage in a long-term contract with a reputable educational institution. Firms with expertise in operating and maintaining CHP units, and those capable of providing comprehensive preventive maintenance and emergency call-out services, stand to benefit greatly. The contract allows for a possibility to extend, thus offering a stable and potentially extended period of work. Furthermore, the requirement for using directly employed labour or collaborating with specialist subcontractors opens opportunities for various types of businesses, from larger service providers to smaller, specialised firms looking to expand through partnership.
