### Procurement Information

JISC are the only provider of internet connectivity via the education sector specific Janet network. The following are provided as standard via the Janet network: * Connections to the Janet network are monitored and protected by a Cyber Security response (CSIRT) team who will provide alerts to NCG. * Every connection to the Janet network benefits from a DDoS Mitigation Service, which detects and prevents cyber-attack traffic. * Direct peering between the Janet Network and major service providers such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, BBC, Netflix and Dropbox meaning traffic from a connected college will not traverse the public internet. * Direct peering with the NCG SIP telephony provider Gamma. * Inbuilt response policy zone (RPZ) functionality, mitigating the risk of a user's web requests being directed to compromised or dangerous websites. * Secure and seamless internet access across locations and devices through eduroam.
