## Summary

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra Network eTendering Portal) is in the planning stage of procuring up to four (4) Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometers (ICPOES). This procurement, titled "Supply of up to four (4) Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometers (ICPOES)", falls under the laboratory, optical and precision equipment industry category. The procurement is intended to support the Environment Agency's Monitoring Laboratories (ML) located in Starcross and Leeds, with the primary goal of enhancing analytical analysis capabilities of metals in various environmental mediums. Key dates to note include the requirement for equipment trials between 24th March and 2nd May 2025, and a future notice date on 29th January 2025, signalling the initiation of the open procedure procurement process.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in laboratory equipment, particularly those capable of supplying high-quality ICPOES systems. Suppliers with a strong track record in providing installation services for laboratory equipment will find this an attractive opportunity, given the Equipment's necessity to meet stringent regulatory and analytical standards. Additionally, the trial requirement allows businesses to demonstrate their product quality and reliability directly to the Environment Agency, potentially securing a valuable partnership. Businesses focusing on environmental protection, water industry, and commercial laboratories stand to benefit greatly and are well-suited to compete in this procurement process.

## Notice

The Environment Agency requires up to four (4) Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometers (ICPOES) for delivery over a three (3) year period.
