## Summary

Kent County Council is seeking to implement the Place-Based Infant Feeding Peer Support Service in Kent, focusing on regions such as Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley, Swale, East and West Kent. This procurement, under the classification of health services (CPV code 85100000), is at the tender update stage as of September 2025, following a competitive process. The service will specifically aid prospective and expectant parents and carers through accessible local sessions, aligning with Health and Care Partnership areas. The service is set to commence on 2nd January 2026, and the contract could potentially extend up until 2029, with an anticipated total value of £2,762,108.44.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses in health services, particularly those with expertise in community health support and innovative service delivery models, to grow their presence by addressing identified local needs. Businesses skilled in workforce training, collaboration with local communities, and supporting diverse demographics, including younger mothers and non-English speakers, would be well-suited for this contract. The National Childbirth Trust has been awarded the contract, having demonstrated the capability to meet the selection criteria and innovation requirements, but further extensions and elements of the service offer opportunities for other businesses to collaborate or support the service delivery.
