## Summary

The Department for Transport (DfT), through the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), has initiated the planning stage for a tender titled "The Provision of Transactions at Counter Services". This procurement falls under the customer services category and is aimed at enhancing in-person transaction services for DVLA's customers across the UK, including England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. The early market engagement survey is open until 28 February 2025, with further detailed engagement events expected to follow in Spring 2025. The overall contract is estimated to be valued at £65 million and will be governed by the new UK Procurement Regulations coming into effect in February 2025.

This tender creates substantial opportunities for businesses that can provide comprehensive in-person services on behalf of DVLA. Companies with widespread geographical coverage, flexible operating hours, and experience in handling government-related transactions will be well-suited to compete. The procurement process encourages innovation and modernisation, inviting suppliers to propose various delivery, integration, and funding models. Businesses with capabilities in secure data exchange, identity verification, and diverse payment handling methods will find this tender particularly beneficial for growth and expansion within the public sector.
