## Summary

The NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract for the Bridging Access Service in Islington, focusing on medical practice and related services. This service aims to fill the gap not covered by core general practice services or the national Primary Care Network enhanced access coverage, ensuring general practice provision from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. The procurement stage is the award stage, with the service set to commence on 1st October 2025 and last until 30th September 2027. The contract value is £793,100 per annum, totalling £1,586,200 over its duration. The direct award was made under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, bypassing the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, and was finalised on 27th January 2025.

This tender offers significant business growth opportunities for local medical service providers, particularly those capable of delivering high-quality and innovative healthcare services. The contract's focus on extended access to general practice services presents a lucrative opportunity for businesses experienced in managing healthcare provision and ensuring seamless patient care. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the healthcare sector, such as the Islington GP Group Limited, which has been awarded the contract, are well-suited to compete, given their flexibility and capability to meet the stringent criteria set forth by the NHS Integrated Care Board.
