## Summary

The University of Aberdeen has completed a procurement process for a services contract titled "Gutter and Roof Cleaning Maintenance Framework". The contract is designed to cover reactive, planned, and statutory maintenance services, including various cleaning and maintenance tasks across the university's campus. The procurement was conducted through an open procedure under the CELEX legal basis, focusing on repair and maintenance services. Key procurement stages include the tender stage which was active as of January 2025, progressing to the award stage by July 2025. The contract was awarded on 16th July 2025 with Alpha-FM Ltd and NEREC Ltd being named as the successful suppliers. The services will be carried out in Aberdeenshire, specifically in the UKM50 region, with a contract value amounting to £80,000. The procurement is governed by a framework agreement and is covered by the GPA.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in maintenance and cleaning services, especially those familiar with complex and varied maintenance requirements in educational institutions. Given the criteria focused on technical quality (60%) and price (40%), entities with strong expertise in gutter and roof cleaning, as well as maintenance of external and internal building facilities, would be well-positioned to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) such as Alpha-FM Ltd and NEREC Ltd, who are experienced in this sector, have previously succeeded in winning such contracts, highlighting the competitive advantage for local SMEs with capabilities in providing comprehensive service solutions. This framework offers potential growth through continuous engagement over an anticipated initial two-year period, with feasible extension options ensuring long-term collaboration with the University of Aberdeen.
