## Summary

The procurement process for the establishment of a Women's Resource Centre focuses on supporting Bangladeshi women in Whitechapel, London. The buying organisation, Tower Hamlets, identified the need for internal refurbishment of a site in Whitechapel to create this centre. The project, titled "HAR5997: (MPP) Women's Resource Centre," falls under the construction industry category. The process was initiated as a tender, followed by an award stage, with an active contract signed on 18th August 2025, for a value of £791,373 to Bloom Construction Group Ltd. The classification code according to the CPV scheme is 45000000. The procurement follows an open procedure, indicating a fair opportunity for all eligible suppliers.

This comprehensive construction project presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in construction works, particularly those experienced in refurbishment projects with a focus on cultural sensitivity. The procurement was openly competed, indicating that well-prepared SMEs, such as those involved in mechanical and electrical services, strip-out and fit-out works, or environmentally focused waste disposal, could benefit. The contract aligns with the needs of businesses geared towards innovative and socially-conscious infrastructure development, further aiding in expanding their service portfolio within the public sector in the UK.

## Notice

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has identified a site in Whitechapel which will be converted into a Women's Resource Centre (with focus on Bangladeshi women), by undertaking internal refurbishment works. This will include strip-out works, light-touch fit-out works, mechanical and electrical works and minor external works.
