## Summary

UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), based in Swindon, has announced a planned procurement process for the "MRC Installation and Minor Works Framework." This falls under the construction work industry category and is intended to support various projects at MRC campuses in London, Oxford, and Cambridge. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with an indicative value of £85,000,000 over four years. The next significant date is the week commencing 17 February 2025, when virtual briefing materials are expected to be issued to interested contractors. This opportunity will be conducted under the Open Procedure as per the Procurement Act 2023, with further details to be shared during the virtual market briefing session.

This procurement represents a substantial opportunity for businesses involved in construction, installation, and maintenance services. Companies that specialize in scientific equipment installation, demolition works, building repairs, and decarbonisation efforts would be well-suited to compete for this framework. Additionally, the opportunity for design and consulting firms in engineering, architectural services, and feasibility studies is significant. Given the scope and value of the framework, participation in this tender can lead to substantial business growth, particularly for those capable of handling large-scale and multi-site projects aligned with stringent security requirements, including Cyber Essentials certification.
