## Summary

APUC Limited is currently in the tender stage for a contract titled "Print Books & Standing Orders (APUC)," which involves the supply and delivery of academic print materials across the UK, including languages in both English and non-English, as well as international languages. This contract is estimated at £4.5 million and is targeted at higher and further education institutions in Scotland, encompassing members of the Scottish Confederation of University and Research Libraries (SCURL), along with the National Library of Scotland, the National Museum of Scotland, and others. The procurement is open until 14th August 2025, with a framework agreement starting on 20th October 2025, initially set for two years with potential extensions up to October 2029. The procurement method follows an open procedure, with key aspects focusing on technical and pricing criteria equally. The main category for this procurement is goods, specifically library books.

This procurement opportunity presents significant business growth potential for suppliers who specialise in academic publishing and distribution, especially those with capabilities in providing diverse language content. Suppliers capable of leveraging sustainable supply chain practices and who adhere to responsible procurement guidelines stand to benefit greatly. Moreover, those with the infrastructure to ensure prompt payment terms throughout the supply chain and the ability to provide a wide array of alternative formats such as digital media, atlases, and music scores will find this tender particularly suitable. Successful bidders will also be expected to partake in community benefit initiatives, such as book donation schemes and creating student internship opportunities, which could further enhance their business profile and foster relationships with prominent educational institutions in Scotland.
